THAT’S SWEET

News from the increasingly hip Pyrmont/Ultimo end of town is the opening of the sugaroom restaurant/bar/lounge. This waterfront, multipurpose dining venue takes its name from the original CSR sugar refinery building. With the docklands giving way to apartment-style living, sugaroom is one of the latest additions to the growing choice of eateries and bars. The menu is casual and innovative, showcasing chef Greg Anderson’s creativity and his carefully sourced produce. Think freshly shucked oysters; barbeque pork belly with seared scallops and baby herbs; salmon fillet with roast potato and crab cake; and pan-fried salt-water barrumundi with oxtail ravioli. You can also drop in for cocktails at the stylish lounge bar and have brunch at weekends. Open for lunch Tuesday to Sunday, dinner Monday to Saturday, and all-day brunch on weekends. sugaroom, 1 Harris Street, Pyrmont.
