Great Beach EscapesBeach MagicAfter all, seaside escapes fuel the imagination with perfect warm days, sunny blue skies and balmy nights walking bare-footed in soft sand.
What better way to spend the day than relaxing on a large shady balcony and drinking in the beach scenery, along with an occasional gin and tonic? A beachside holiday adds immensely to life’s joys; just make sure the photos reflect the dream of blue skies, rolling waves, smiling faces and creative sandcastles.
Our beaches are places where families and friends meet; places where you can ride a camel at sunset; enjoy a game of cricket; top up your tan; or cast a rod and fish for your dinner. There are beaches flanked by glamorous homes and humble beach shacks; in the more populated states they are surrounded by cafes and bars selling delicious fare. In more remote areas you’ll discover splendid isolation. The world’s whitest sand is located at Hyam’s Beach south of Sydney, while the largest sand island, Fraser Island is one of several World Heritage listed sites located in Queensland. The warm, crystal clear waters of the north sustain two of the world’s great coral reefs. The Great Barrier Reef (2500kms long) is one of the world’s modern wonders while Ningaloo Reef (230kms) on Australia’s Coral Coast in the west, is the most accessible reef experience in the world.
Whichever beach you choose to go to you can be assured of a fantastic weekend away. Maggie Walsh |
