Snorkelling straight off the white sandy beach is just one reason to choose Toberua Island as your Fiji destination. Easy to reach yet away from the tourist traps, Toberua (pronounced Tomberua) has a lovely climate and is just the place for a romantic holiday where you can leave all your work and cares at home and concentrate on enjoyment and relaxation, Fiji-style.

Toberua has a resident PADI Dive Instructor with courses from Introductory Resort dives to Dive Master qualification and equipment available for currently certified divers.

The Playground is home to a large number of reef sharks, morays and turtles with swim-throughs, overhangs, caverns and caves and many beautiful shells – and that’s only a small taste of the dive experiences.

Fishing, boat trips to the atmospheric old capital of Levuka and Bird Island, a small uninhabited island which is the resting area for a large colony of Red footed Boobies, are among the many activities available.

Toberua has its own golf course, founded in 1985 by Australian artist Ken Done, a nine-hole par three, playable only at low tide with a wedge or sand wedge is provided for driving, chipping and putting. Holes are a six inch diameter circle drawn in the sand and the local rules are unique including the fact that ‘taking the game seriously shall incur a shout at the bar’!
