Kooyong Retreat
A
country-style fully-equipped chefs kitchen connects with a conservatory
with a chaise lounge providing the ideal location to relax and enjoy the
winter sunshine. This then flows into a family room area, providing casual dining for up to eight people, with the entertaining room opening out onto a provincial-style terrace overlooking the gardens. A timed central heating system ensures the retreat is cosy during the colder months. Situated near the end of a no through road, Kooyong Retreats very private surrounds are further enhanced by a walking path direct into the Blue Mountains National Park, with views of the Mount Solitary and Jamison Valley. A further short walk along the bush track will take you into the walking trails of the Lyre Bird Dell and pool of Siloam circuit. Return
to Kooyong and enjoy the contrast of the natural landscape gums and
eucalypts of the National Park with the more European-style garden
with deciduous trees revealing the changing colours of autumn, and letting
the winter sun filter through to the impressive park-like grounds. With
around 5,000 square metres of gardens, walk amongst the rhododendrons, azaleas,
camellias and shrubs. The established lines of trees frame the central water feature, with hidden corners, love seats and garden benches. Situated only eight minutes from the chic Leura village, guests can explore the many fine coffee shops, restaurants and galleries. The Blue Mountains is a haven for visitors combining the natural beauty of the national parks with its walking tracks, waterfalls, and established gardens along with the modern decadence of day spas, fine and unique dining experiences as well a wealth of attractions such as antique shops and Leuras Toy and Railway Museums. Kooyong
Retreat was originally a dairy, with the sweeping driveway taking visitors
to the homestead which is tucked away in the corner of the property, providing
total peace and privacy for guests. For further details on Kooyong Retreat phone 0400 112 395. |
