The city of Devonport is the largest and most important port on Tasmania's north coast. Located at the mouth of the Mersey River, Devonport is 98 km west of Launceston. Known as 'The Gateway to Tasmania' Devonport is the major point of entry for visitors travelling across Bass Strait by car ferry.
