Capertee is a quiet little tablelands village situated on the edge of the largest enclosed valley in Australia. Located 42 km north of Lithgow, Capertee has historical associations with coal, limestone and shale mining. Pearsons Lookout offers outstanding views of the Capertee Valley. Rising dramatically from the valley floor is a column-like, flat-topped mountain known as Pantoneys Crown which is part of the Gardens of Stone National Park. To the west is the Turon Gates Camping Area. Visitors to Capertee will find excellent rural accommodation.
