Information about Swansea:
Swansea is a substantial coastal resort located at the ocean entrance to Lake Macquarie which is the largest coastal saltwater lake in the Southern Hemisphere. The lake has innumerable boat ramps, wharves, marinas, fishing and aquatic opportunities, cruises, hire services and attractive villages. The Swansea channel is particularly popular with anglers. Caves Beach and Blacksmiths Beach, on the ocean side of Swansea, are popular and there is an excellent lookout off Scenic Drive. Swansea Museum and Bahtabah Arts and Crafts Centre are also of some interest. Lakeside accommodation is available at Swansea.
