Toronto is located at the western end of a long peninsula that protrudes from the north-western shore of Lake Macquarie. Not surprisingly, fishing, sailing and rowing are mainstays of local recreation. Toronto Foreshore Park is an attractive patch of greenery which extends down to the waterline. There is a rock pool to the east and a boat ramp to the west. Every Sunday there is music in the park and lake cruises depart hourly from midday to 4.00 p.m. Toronto Railway Station Heritage Centre is located at the western end of the park. Situated opposite the park is the attractive Toronto Hotel (1887). Excellent waterfront accommodation is available at Toronto.
