Information about Broke:
Broke is a small and attractive little village of some 400 people on the banks of Wollombi Creek, 23 km south of Singleton. Until recently a dairying area, Broke has experienced the westward spread of winery fever from Pokolbin in recent years. There are three wineries in the immediate area: Simon Whitlam Wines, Broke Estate Vineyard and the Hill of Hope Winery and Restaurant. If you are still thirsty the Cessnock Rd heads east to Pokolbin. The Broke village store also acts as an outlet for local wineries. Visitors to Broke will find some rural accommodation.
