Information about Lochinvar:
Lochinvar is a pleasant locality on the New England Highway between Maitland and Singleton. A roadside stop on the outskirts of Lochinvar offers a fine prospect over the valley. Lovedale Rd runs off to the Pokolbin Winery area. Further east along the highway a sign to the left indicates the access road to historic Lochinvar House, built in 1825 and now offering gracious bed-and-breakfast accommodation. St Helena House (1869) at Lochinvar is now a restaurant and Windermere homestead (1880s) houses a museum in the dungeons where the convicts were kept.
