Information about Orange:
Orange is a substantial and sophisticated rural service centre which lies at the heart of some of New South Wales' most rich and beautiful agricultural land. The Orange City Heritage Trail takes in the beautiful Holy Trinity Church of Orange (1879) and the extraordinary Duntryleague (1876). Also of interest are Orange Regional Gallery, Orange's excellent gardens and parks (including the Orange Botanical Gardens), Lake Canobolas, Mount Canobolas, the many wineries of the district, Ophir Recreation Reserve, where Australia's first payable gold was located in 1851 and the birthplace of 'Banjo' Paterson. A range of excellent accommodation is available at Orange.
